Day 1 Arrival in Kunming, Airport Pick-up

Upon your arrival in Kunming, the capital city of Yunnan today, our professional guide will pick you up in the arrival hall of the airport on time and then transfer you to the hotel in downtown area by an air-conditioned car.

After a short break, start the exploration in Yunnan from the Golden Temple, a well-known Taoist temple on Mingfeng Hill. It is actually not built of gold, but bronze. As shining as gold under the sunshine, it is hence named Golden Temple. After that, take a leisurely wander in the Green Lake Park to appreciate the beauty of the waterscape, which enjoys the reputation of “jade of the city”.

► Restaurant Recommendation for Dinner (at your own expense):

If you want to sample Yunnan cuisine, do it at the time-honored Emerald Cloud Restaurant besides Green Lake Park. The restaurant is 10 minutes' walk from Green Lake Hotel and 20 minutes' taxi ride from Jinjiang Hotel. Dating from the Ming Dynasty (1368 - 1644), the restaurant building has become a historical landmark. It allows you to eat while appreciating the beautiful scenery of the entire park.

Average cost per person: CNY 70 / USD 10

Address: No.82 Qingyun Street, Wuhua District

This morning, you will have a chance to experience localslife at Zhuanxin Farmers' Market, which is the largest of its kind in Kunming, even the whole Yunnan. Every day, thousands of people come here to buy ingredients for cooking meals, including vegetable, meat, seafood, and fruit. Blessed with complex landforms and diverse climate, Yunnan always cultivates something different from others, so its not surprising to see strange wild mushrooms and vegetable in the market.

Then, continue to visit the Stone Forest, a typical model of China's Karst landforms. Walking through the Stone Forest, you will be astonished by the extraordinary workmanship of the nature. Stones in the shapes of plants, animals and even humans can all be found here, some elegant, some rugged.

After, your guide will transfer you to the railway station and instruct you to board the high speed train to Dali, which takes around 2 hours on the way. Our guide based in Dali will pick you up on your arrival and escort you to the hotel in the primitive Dali Ancient City.

Meals: Western buffet breakfast

Day 3 Dali
Catering

This will be an impressive day in Dali, a habitation for Bai minority group! Firstly, stroll around in the ancient city along stone-paved road, seeing traditional Bai ethnic minority folk houses, unique city gate towers with overhanging eaves, local people in their ethnic costumes and more. The street that goes from the South City Gate to the North City Gate is now a prosperous market street lined with distinctive stores.

Afterwards, go out of the ancient city to visit the Three Pagodas which faces the beautiful Erhai Lake. As its name implies, there are three ancient pagodas there, standing in a symmetrical triangle. With a history of more than 1,800 years, the three pagodas have been the symbolic constructions of Dali.

Later, enjoy some walking in the ecological corridor of the Erhai Lake accompanied by your guide.

Privileges of Our Guests

We have chosen the area around Longkan Pier for the walking, which is the most scenic part of Erhai Ecological Corridor. If interested, the guide will leave you with some free time to enjoy the fun of cycling along the Corridor. He or she will assist you to rent a bicycle at your own cost and inform you the best biking route. There are both single bikes and double bikes for you to choose from.

This morning, move on to Lijiang by a private car, which is about three to four hours' drive away. On the way, we will arrange a visit in Xizhou Bais Compound. It is in traditional Bai Minority style, distinctive with delicate wood and stone carvings, inky paintings on the lime powdered walls and overhanging eaves.

Interesting Experience of Bai Minority Tie-Dyeing

Later, the guide will lead you to a nearby dyehouse to try the traditional Bai minority tie-dyeing. It will be exciting to dye a piece of cloth with various patterns with the help of a local craftsman.

Upon arrival in Lijiang, the guide will firstly escort you to check into the hotel we have reserved for you in advance. After a short rest, start exploring Lijiang Old Town, which is centered on Square Street paved with bluestones and lined with numerous souvenir shops, unique bars and restaurants. A majority of dwellers here are Naxi people. So if looking carefully, you will find the folk houses, localscostumes and more different from those in Dali. After that, your guide will accompany you to the hotel.

Travel Tip: The town is even more charming at night when all red lanterns along the street are lit. It is strongly advised you stay longer to appreciate the night pieces. Just inform the guide and he or she will point you the way to return.

Restaurant Recommendation for Dinner (at your own expense):

Why not idle away your time at Lijiang Old Town and tackle your dinner here? Visit the restaurant No.88 Snack. Standing here for over three decades, it is a locally widely-known old brand. The façade is unimpressive but you will find a world of its own on stepping in. With several courtyards, it would remind you of ethnic-style local houses. Anyway, this is a restaurant even locals speak highly of and would strongly recommend. Later, perhaps stroll some 20 minutes through local life back to your hotel.

Average cost per person: CNY 50 / USD 7

Address: No. 88, Xingren Section, Wuyi Street, Dayan Street, Gucheng District

The car is brand new. V rented it for two days: one day for a 10-hour tour in Hong Kong, and one day to take us to Shenzhen to visit and then return us to Hong Kong later that evening. NOT BAD.

For our 25th anniversary, my wife and I booked this Sichuan loop. Our guide Wang picked us up with hot tea, small start to a big adventure. Wolong's pandas were incredible, but the real magic began climbing toward Mount Siguniang. Snow peaks, empty valleys, Wang knowing every photo spot. At 4,700 meters near Litang, my wife felt dizzy. Wang had oxygen ready, made us rest. "No rush," he said. Twenty minutes later, we were walking among yaks on the roof of the world. Yading was worth every bumpy mile. Three holy mountains, turquoise lakes, prayer flags in the wind. Eight days, four thousand meters, one unforgettable anniversary.

I booked this 10-day trip for my parents' 30th anniversary. Dad's 62, mom's not a strong traveler, I was nervous. But Wandrift made everything smooth. our guide Tenzin met us at Lijiang airport with a warm smile and white hada scarves. First few days were gentle wandering Old Town, watching Naxi musicians perform. Mom loved the slow pace. Then came the drive to Shangri-La. Winding ountain roads. Mom started looking pale halfway through. Tenzin noticed immediately. He had the driver pull over at a scenic spot, gave mom some local herbal balm, and let her rest for 20 minutes. "No rush," he said. "The mountains will wait." That small kindness changed everything. We made it to Shangri-La. Mom recovered at the hotel while Tenzin took dad and me to visit a local family. Drank butter tea, learned about their daily life. Next day at Songzanlin Monastery, mom was back to her usual self, snapping photos and asking questions. Other highlights: hiking through Pudacuo's meadows, spotting yaks for the first time, the prayer flags fluttering in the wind. But what I'll remember most is that moment on the mountain road~a guide who cared more about my mom's comfort than keeping schedule. For anyone traveling with older parents in Yunnan, this tour is it.

My friend and I booked this 5days trip for a quick getaway. Zhangjiajie's sandstone pillars looked like something from another planet. Our guide Liu timed the Bailong Elevator perfectly, no lines, just mist rising around us like entering Pandora. At Tianmen Mountain, I froze at the glass walkway. My friend had to drag me across while Liu pretended not to watch. Furong Ancient Town surprised us. The waterfall flowing right through town at night, lights reflecting on water, we just sat there with noodles, saying nothing. Fenghuang felt like stepping back in time. Liu arranged a boat ride at dusk. Our rower sang local songs, lights coming on along the stilted houses. Magic. For a short China trip hitting big sights, this works perfectly.

This hotel was such a nice upgrade on my trip through Xinjiang, Gansu and Ningxia. I was really surprised—China’s desert hotels are just as good as the ones in Morocco!Too bad we only had 2 days in Ningxia. The place is super nice, and all three of us were blown away. They have stargazing sessions and sand dune activities too.And the price here is even cheaper than on Ctrip. I totally recommend it!

As retirees living in Thailand, we usually prefer slower travel, but this 8-day Chengdu, Chongqing, and Zhangjiajie tour struck the perfect balance. Watching giant pandas at their morning feeding at the world’s largest breeding base was pure magic. Our guide, Helen, knew exactly when to arrive to avoid the crowds, her attention to detail was impeccable throughout. In Chongqing, Helen helped us navigate the dizzying levels of Hongya Cave at dusk; watching it transform into a real-life Spirited Away scene along the Jialing River was unforgettable. She even taught us to use Alipay and DiDi=we felt like locals! The Wulong karst bridges left us speechless. But Zhangjiajie? Surreal. Riding the world's tallest outdoor elevator up into those misty quartz peaks felt like entering Pandora. Helen arranged a morning hike along Gold Whip Streat, just us, bird songs, and towering cliffs. Between cities, we experienced China's high speed rail, smooth, punctual, and hitting 300 km each hours. We also tried food delivery apps and bike-sharing with Helen's guidance. Four modern technologies, one exceptional guide. Deeply grateful.

we booked this 11-day trip for our first China visit. From Beijing's grandeur to Shanghai's skyline, every stop impressed. In Beijing, our guide Lucy took us to the Great Wall early, just us and misty mountains. She knew exactly where to stand for photos without crowds. The Forbidden City felt endless in the best way. Xi'an's Terracotta Warriors left us speechless. Lisa arranged a warrior-making workshop where we both failed hilariously at clay molding. That lopsided soldier now sits on our shelf. zhangjiawei stunned us most. Glass bridge had my husband gripping the railing while I laughed. Our guide Michael noticed my fear of heights and quietly suggested the forest path instead, shanghai's Huangpu cruise at night was pure magic. Different cities, different guides, all wonderful. For couples wanting hassle-free China, this tour delivers.
