Xi’an Terracotta Warriors & Qin Crossbow Making Private Day Tour

**08:00 – Hotel Pickup & Departure** Your private English-speaking guide and driver will meet you at your hotel lobby at 8:00 AM, then depart for the Terracotta Warriors site in a comfortable private vehicle. The 1.5-hour drive eastward takes you to the UNESCO World Heritage site, with your guide sharing background stories of Qin Dynasty history along the way.

**09:30 – 12:30 – Terracotta Warriors Museum Guided Tour** With skip-the-line access included in your private booking, you will enter the museum directly and explore all three major excavation pits at a relaxed pace. Start at the iconic Pit 1, where thousands of life-sized terracotta warriors stand in neat battle formations, each with unique facial features and armor details. Then move to Pit 2 to see specialized archer, cavalry and chariot units, and Pit 3 to learn about the ancient army’s command structure. You will also view the exquisite Bronze Chariots and Horses exhibit, admiring the superb craftsmanship of Qin Dynasty metallurgy. Your guide will explain the archaeological discovery story, the imperial mausoleum system and the military logic behind the underground army, turning the visit from a simple sightseeing stop into an in-depth history lesson.

*12:30 – 13:30 – Local Lunch** Enjoy a relaxed lunch at a reputable local restaurant near the scenic area, tasting classic Shaanxi home-style dishes prepared with fresh local ingredients.

**14:00 – 16:30 – Traditional Qin Crossbow Making Workshop** Head to a professional cultural craft workshop for an immersive hands-on experience of making a Qin Dynasty crossbow replica. Led by a heritage craft instructor, you will first learn about the military technology of the Qin Empire: how the standardized bronze trigger mechanism (with its “wangshan” sight, “ya” hook and “xuandao” trigger) gave Qin soldiers a decisive advantage on the battlefield, and why the crossbow was known as the empire’s most powerful long-range weapon. You will then assemble a scaled-down functional crossbow model piece by piece, learn proper aiming and shooting posture, and take turns testing your finished crossbow at a safe indoor target range. The finished crossbow model is yours to keep as a one-of-a-kind historical souvenir. **17:00 – Return to Hotel** After the workshop, your driver will escort you back to your downtown Xi’an hotel, concluding the full-day private tour.

We had an incredible time exploring Dali with Wandrift China Tour. The ancient towns, peaceful Erhai Lake and stunning snow-capped Cangshan Mountain took our breath away. Dali’s slow lifestyle, fresh air and unique local culture are absolutely charming. Every arrangement was well-organized, and our guide was friendly, professional and thoughtful. Thank you so much to Wandrift China Tour for creating such a wonderful and memorable Dali journey for our family. We truly enjoyed every moment.

The car is brand new. V rented it for two days: one day for a 10-hour tour in Hong Kong, and one day to take us to Shenzhen to visit and then return us to Hong Kong later that evening. NOT BAD.

My mom and I took this 5-day Chengdu tour. She's 68 and likes temples, tea, and slow walking. This trip was made for her. First day in Chengdu, our guide Wei took us to a local teahouse where old men played mahjong and parrots whistled. Mom loved it. Next day, Leshan Buddha. The stairs down to its feet are steep, but Wei found us a boat instead. Seeing the 71-meter giant from the river, mom just kept saying "wow." Emei Mountain was the highlight. We stayed overnight at a temple near the summit. Monks chanting at dawn, mist rolling through ancient pines. Mom cried a little. "My father told me about this place when I was a little girl," she said. Wei carried our bags the whole way. Small thing, meant everything. For anyone traveling with older parents in Sichuan, book this.
