Step into the Forbidden City, where the vibrant red walls and gleaming golden rooftops tell stories of the Ming and Qing dynasties' splendor. In spring, the palace comes alive with budding green foliage; summer sees the courtyards adorned with blooming flowers; autumn paints the phoenix trees in golden hues; and winter blankets the ancient halls in pristine snow - each season offers a unique charm worth experiencing.

Ascend Jingshan Park to capture a panoramic view of the palace's perfect symmetry along Beijing's central axis. Conclude your day with a visit to the Temple of Heaven for golden-hour photography. The warm, soft light at sunset will beautifully highlight the main temple and its surroundings.

Day 3: Night Tour of Simatai Great Wall & Rickshaw Hutong Tour(B)

Immerse yourself in local life at a lively morning market, brimming with vibrant produce, aromatic street food, and the cheerful banter of energetic vendors. Hop on a rickshaw to explore Beijing's Hutongs, capturing snapshots of narrow, timeworn alleys and the traditional charm of gray-tiled courtyards.

Later, drive about 2.5 hours to Gubei Ancient Water Town for an overnight stay and take some time to unwind before the evening's photography session. Your guide will lead you to the cable car for a ride to the Simatai Great Wall, where the Lantern Night Tour unveils a breathtaking scene. From the beacon towers, capture the twinkling lights of the town below, creating a serene and enchanting contrast against the night sky. Don't miss the water dancing fountains at Wangjinglou, which add another dynamic element to your nighttime photography session.

Day 4: Gubei Water Town & Jinshanling Great Wall(B)

Gubei Water Town's tranquil waters and ancient structures come alive in the morning light. Stroll through its charming streets, visiting unique shops like the dyehouse and the distillery, each offering a glimpse into China's rich heritage and traditional crafts.

Venture to the Jinshanling Great Wall, a haven for photographers, where rugged landscapes, majestic watchtowers, and rolling ridges stretch endlessly into the horizon.

Returning to Beijing, marvel at the architectural wonders of the Bird's Nest and Water Cube, iconic symbols of the 2008 Olympics, their striking forms made even more breathtaking against the fiery hues of a setting sun.

Day 5: Summer Palace, Kunming Lake, Shougang Industrial Park(B)

Visit the Summer Palace, a stunning imperial garden where elegant pavilions and arched stone bridges blend seamlessly with the serene expanse of Kunming Lake - ideal for capturing tranquil, reflective shots.

In the afternoon, head to Shougang Industrial Park, a must-visit for lovers of industrial aesthetics. Towering boilers, weathered cooling towers, rusted transport corridors, railway lines, and intricate pipelines exude a gritty charm, offering unique photography opportunities. As evening approaches, the Shougang Ski Jumping Platform steals the show, glowing like a ribbon soaring into the sky. Under the night sky, the translucent slope and colorful silhouettes create a dazzling scene that's perfect for dramatic nighttime photography.

Day 6: Beijing - Datong (Yungang Grottoes, Shanhua Temple)(B)

Just two hours by high-speed rail, you will arrive in Datong, a city renowned for its extraordinary architectural wonders. Begin your journey at the Yungang Grottoes, a UNESCO World Heritage Site showcasing awe-inspiring Buddhist carvings and statues from the 5th century. Through your camera lens, explore details the naked eye might overlook - traces of history etched into every surface. Capture the diverse expressions of the Buddha statues: some radiating compassion and gentle smiles as they gaze down at the world, others exuding solemnity and gravitas, embodying the weight of centuries of history.

Next, visit the Shanhua Temple, a Liao dynasty (907AD-1125AD) masterpiece celebrated for its exquisite wooden pavilions, intricate dougong brackets, and ancient murals. Inside the main hall, marvel at the statues of the Four Heavenly Kings, their dynamic forms and commanding presence a testament to the artistry of a bygone era.

Day 7: Hanging Temple, Yingxian Wooden Pagoda(B)

Behold the Hanging Temple, an ancient engineering marvel that has clung to the cliffs of Mount Heng for over 1,500 years. Start with a distant view to capture its remarkable integration with the rugged cliffside. Step closer to explore its intricate details - ornate door rings, intricate locks, delicately carved staircases, and vibrant murals - all crafted with extraordinary precision and artistry.

Next, visit the Yingxian Wooden Pagoda, the tallest ancient wooden structure in the world. From a distance, the pagoda's towering silhouette dominates the skyline, its symmetrical layers showcasing an impressive blend of strength and grace. Up close, the lens reveals a wealth of details - the finely carved beams, delicate ornamental patterns, and the interplay of light and shadow on its weathered surfaces.

Day 8: Pingyao Ancient Town(B)

Today, journey from Datong to Pingyao Ancient Town, a venue for the renowned Pingyao International Photography Festival. Wander along its cobblestone streets, flanked by traditional courtyards, ornate shops, and fortified walls that tell tales of a bygone era. Visit the renowned Rishengchang, the first draft bank in China, and capture the charm of lantern-lit alleys and intricate architectural carvings. Ascend the ancient city wall for a panoramic view, immersing yourself in the cultural and historical essence of China's legendary merchant heritage.

Day 9: Shuanglin Temple, Wang Family Courtyard, Pingyao - Xi'an(B)

Visit Shuanglin Temple, often referred to as the "Treasure House of Painted Sculptures," where vibrant, lifelike Buddhist statues seem to come to life, surrounded by intricate murals and symbolic decorations that offer a deep insight into Chinese religious art.

Next, explore the Wang Family Courtyard, a vast mansion showcasing the opulence of Shanxi's wealthy past. The meticulously crafted carvings, expansive courtyards, and compact, symmetrical layout reflect the region's architectural heritage. The delicate, curved bridges, elegant flying eaves, and undulating walls soften the rigid structure of the ancient courtyard, adding a touch of grace to its fortress-like design. Travel to Xi'an by train in the evening.

Day 10: Terracotta Army, Traditional Clothing Experience(B)
Catering

Discover the awe-inspiring Terracotta Army, where thousands of life-sized soldiers stand in silent watch, each one with a distinct expression that reflects the individuality of ancient warriors. Spend two to three hours capturing the intricate details of these life-size clay soldiers.

Visit the Great Tang All Day Mall, where illuminated pavilions and lakeside reflections evoke the splendor of the Tang dynasty. Don and photograph the Tang or Han dynasty clothing for portraits that bridge time and tradition.

The car is brand new. V rented it for two days: one day for a 10-hour tour in Hong Kong, and one day to take us to Shenzhen to visit and then return us to Hong Kong later that evening. NOT BAD.

For our 25th anniversary, my wife and I booked this Sichuan loop. Our guide Wang picked us up with hot tea, small start to a big adventure. Wolong's pandas were incredible, but the real magic began climbing toward Mount Siguniang. Snow peaks, empty valleys, Wang knowing every photo spot. At 4,700 meters near Litang, my wife felt dizzy. Wang had oxygen ready, made us rest. "No rush," he said. Twenty minutes later, we were walking among yaks on the roof of the world. Yading was worth every bumpy mile. Three holy mountains, turquoise lakes, prayer flags in the wind. Eight days, four thousand meters, one unforgettable anniversary.

I booked this 10-day trip for my parents' 30th anniversary. Dad's 62, mom's not a strong traveler, I was nervous. But Wandrift made everything smooth. our guide Tenzin met us at Lijiang airport with a warm smile and white hada scarves. First few days were gentle wandering Old Town, watching Naxi musicians perform. Mom loved the slow pace. Then came the drive to Shangri-La. Winding ountain roads. Mom started looking pale halfway through. Tenzin noticed immediately. He had the driver pull over at a scenic spot, gave mom some local herbal balm, and let her rest for 20 minutes. "No rush," he said. "The mountains will wait." That small kindness changed everything. We made it to Shangri-La. Mom recovered at the hotel while Tenzin took dad and me to visit a local family. Drank butter tea, learned about their daily life. Next day at Songzanlin Monastery, mom was back to her usual self, snapping photos and asking questions. Other highlights: hiking through Pudacuo's meadows, spotting yaks for the first time, the prayer flags fluttering in the wind. But what I'll remember most is that moment on the mountain road~a guide who cared more about my mom's comfort than keeping schedule. For anyone traveling with older parents in Yunnan, this tour is it.

My friend and I booked this 5days trip for a quick getaway. Zhangjiajie's sandstone pillars looked like something from another planet. Our guide Liu timed the Bailong Elevator perfectly, no lines, just mist rising around us like entering Pandora. At Tianmen Mountain, I froze at the glass walkway. My friend had to drag me across while Liu pretended not to watch. Furong Ancient Town surprised us. The waterfall flowing right through town at night, lights reflecting on water, we just sat there with noodles, saying nothing. Fenghuang felt like stepping back in time. Liu arranged a boat ride at dusk. Our rower sang local songs, lights coming on along the stilted houses. Magic. For a short China trip hitting big sights, this works perfectly.

This hotel was such a nice upgrade on my trip through Xinjiang, Gansu and Ningxia. I was really surprised—China’s desert hotels are just as good as the ones in Morocco!Too bad we only had 2 days in Ningxia. The place is super nice, and all three of us were blown away. They have stargazing sessions and sand dune activities too.And the price here is even cheaper than on Ctrip. I totally recommend it!

As retirees living in Thailand, we usually prefer slower travel, but this 8-day Chengdu, Chongqing, and Zhangjiajie tour struck the perfect balance. Watching giant pandas at their morning feeding at the world’s largest breeding base was pure magic. Our guide, Helen, knew exactly when to arrive to avoid the crowds, her attention to detail was impeccable throughout. In Chongqing, Helen helped us navigate the dizzying levels of Hongya Cave at dusk; watching it transform into a real-life Spirited Away scene along the Jialing River was unforgettable. She even taught us to use Alipay and DiDi=we felt like locals! The Wulong karst bridges left us speechless. But Zhangjiajie? Surreal. Riding the world's tallest outdoor elevator up into those misty quartz peaks felt like entering Pandora. Helen arranged a morning hike along Gold Whip Streat, just us, bird songs, and towering cliffs. Between cities, we experienced China's high speed rail, smooth, punctual, and hitting 300 km each hours. We also tried food delivery apps and bike-sharing with Helen's guidance. Four modern technologies, one exceptional guide. Deeply grateful.

we booked this 11-day trip for our first China visit. From Beijing's grandeur to Shanghai's skyline, every stop impressed. In Beijing, our guide Lucy took us to the Great Wall early, just us and misty mountains. She knew exactly where to stand for photos without crowds. The Forbidden City felt endless in the best way. Xi'an's Terracotta Warriors left us speechless. Lisa arranged a warrior-making workshop where we both failed hilariously at clay molding. That lopsided soldier now sits on our shelf. zhangjiawei stunned us most. Glass bridge had my husband gripping the railing while I laughed. Our guide Michael noticed my fear of heights and quietly suggested the forest path instead, shanghai's Huangpu cruise at night was pure magic. Different cities, different guides, all wonderful. For couples wanting hassle-free China, this tour delivers.
